Observational study of the use of Cosmopor® Advance and Antibacterial

Tested in practice: In their daily work, more than 50 surgeons have tested Cosmopor Advance and Antibacterial on 338 patients in Germany. The improved product properties and the innovative DryBarrier Technology are completely convincing right down the line.

Compared to previously used products more than half of the surgeons consider Cosmopor Advance and Antibacterial as clearly more suitable to keep wounds dry.

Test of absorption and rewetting when using DryBarrier® Technology

The mini-max principle: Maximum absorption at minimum rewetting. Very much and very little together results in “very good”

Maximum absorption: The high absorption capacity of a wound dressing with DryBarrier Technology provides reliable retention of wound exudate and permits a longer rest of the wound, as a change of dressing caused by an exhausted wound dressing pad is prevented.

Minimum rewetting: Tests have substantiated that compared to conventional products, Cosmopor with DryBarrier Technology has a higher absorption capacity and yet causes less moisture to be left on the skin.

Maximum fluid absorption according to ISO 9073-6:2000
Test method rewetting: 1 ml of fluid at a load of 200 g/cm2 after a contact time of
30 minutes.

Activity against bacteria within Cosmopor® Antibacterial

Tests have substantiated: The released silver ions reliably kill bacteria in the wound pad.
